gone viral after marines in ft. myers videotaped the trial dog walk. the big dog was designed by boston dynamic to carry equipment for food soldiers and marines, said to carry 400 pounds 20 miles before needing to refuel. it's set to follow its leader and can travel to preset destinations via gps. thanks so much for joining us at 10:00. here's brian now with the news edge at 11:00. police say small children are left unattended strapped in car seats in bathrooms and closets at a virginia daycare. the infants are safe, the two women running the daycare facing serious charges. >> child protective services in prince william county got a tip about the home-based daycare on abilene way and moved in. when they arrived, they found 21 children ages 3 months to 4 years old inside with just two people watching them.

police say 29-year-old anila qayyum had a business permit to take care of five children at this home. when child protective services arrived, they found more than 20 and only her 23-year-old sister rabia was there helping out. >> they had 21 kids in there, that they weren't licensed, i was pretty surprised. >> reporter: neighbors describe the sisters as friendly and say they always seem attentive with the kids when they played outside. that makes the disturbing find inside the home even harder to stomach. >> some of them were in the closet in a car seat. >> i heard about that. that was really disturbing because that means to me that you have too many children inside the house. so i think that's dangerous and i mean that sends out a really bad message and i would be really upset if that was my child in there. >> i myself work in child care at quantico marine corps based at the child development center. so to hear that someone was doing illegal child care here in our neighborhood, very

shocking. >> reporter: the sisters are now facing seven counts each of reckless child endangerment, taken into custody as neighbors looked on. >> i was just watching and see two ladies get handcuffed and put in a police car and i see a lot of parents come and pick up their kids. >> reporter: the home-based business has been shut down for now heaving more than a dozen families strap -- leaving more than a dozen families scrambling to find a legal place to leave their children. >> i used to look over there and say she seemed like a really good daycare provider not knowing she wasn't licensed. >> reporter: even with the appropriate license the women would only have been allowed to care for up to 12 children at that home, not 21. and there are a number of other requirements, too which may not have been met. bond was set at $8,000 each. if they are convicted, they could be facinger. >> jail time. -- facing serious jail time. in cold blood the u.s. ambassador to libya and three

killing of u.s. ambassador chris stevens. >> we jean all efforts to denigrate -- we reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, but there is absolutely no justification to this type of senseless violence. >> reporter: the president then went to the state departmento mourn with employees while his secretary of state said the libyan government was not involved. >> a free and stable libya is still in america's interest and security. and we will not turn our back on that. >> ambassador stevens died trying to get staffers out of the u.s. consulate while the demonstrations raged outside. while there attackers fired grenades and automatic weapons into the building. >> this attack is a horrible attack. we condemn it. we strongly condemn this kind of attack. >> governor mitt romney wednesday had to defend a statement criticizing the white

house's handling of the growing protests. it was left to vice presidential candidate paul ryan to personally deliver the campaign's reaction. >> in the loss of four american lives including our ambassador j. christopher stevens, this is outrageous. >> reporter: u.s. officials later identified shaun smith, a veteran foreign service information officer, as one of the casualties. the names of the other two americans killed have not been released. in response to the attacks the state department requested and the pentagon approved today the deployment immediately of 50 u.s. marines to bolster security. u.s. diplomatic facilities in libya. in the newsroom tom fitzgerald, fox 5 news. more demonstrations have turned violent outside the u.s. embassy in cairo, egypt. police shot tear gas into the crowds while they protested the

anti-muslim movie and the u.s. anti missions in the region. there was a peaceful demonstration tonight outside the white house. >> it was hastily organized by the washington area's muslim american community but well attended and, in fact, many were of libyan heritage. they met in front of the white house in the middle of pennsylvania avenue. this was right around dusk tonight. the flag on the roof across the street is at half staff. they held candles and talked about the impact of the deadly violence of the past 24 hours. organizers say this vigil was inspired by libyan americans living in tripoli where we're told there was a similar demonstration wednesday night as well as in the city center of benghazi. some say they had met ambassador chris stevens and admired him greatly. >> extremely genuine, sincere, thoughtful person. i remember when i met him first back in early april in benghazi, he was still the u.s.

envoy and the minute he found out that i was american, libyan american, and there were other libyan americans as well, he was really excited, wanted to meet them and know their story and wanted to know what made them come back trying to help libya. >> it's really unfortunate that some fringe groups have the ability to make such a huge impression and cause such chaos and destruction obviously, but again this is not -- they don't reflect views of the libyan people, the libyan government. >> organizers of the vigil tonight outside the white house say there will be two more days of public gatherings in cities across this country to honor ambassador stevens and to encourage good relations between the united states and libya. following a developing story in cuba involving the fate of a potomac, maryland man jailed for three years. a cuban official says the country is prepared to negotiate a solution in the case of alan gross who was arrested in december, 2009 convicted of spying after distributing internet equipment

a brazen attack on a north carolina cab driver caught on surveillance video. a camp lejeune marine is behind the beating and faces misdemeanor assault charges. [ fighting ] >> reporter: a dashcam captures six horrifying minutes for an oslo county cab driver, but how did words quickly turn into violence? >> he flipped out. >> reporter: police say it started early sunday morning at the trailer bar when passenger john knosh stepped inside the cab of charles hawksworth jr. the taxi owner showed us the entire video. the dashcam video shows knash seated in the cab shortly after 1 a.m. when i finds out hawksworth is

had to work all week and you'd like to enjoy some of these nice weather. check out the temperature trend, our average high 81 degrees, 82 tomorrow, sunshine, maybe dew points coming up a bit but i would not describe tomorrow as humid, just really comfortable. friday about 81, a bit of increasing clouds in the afternoon, could be a couple showers around after 6:00 or 7:00 friday night, definitely not a washout. that front picked up speed and it looks like it will be out of here saturday. so saturday now looks dry. if we get an showers, it would be predawn most likely unless something changes and the front slows down and it cools us off for saturday at 79, sunday 78 degrees. in pretty good shape. thought i'd show you the high temperature map, 81 for the district today, boston 73 degrees. wichita is 95 and look at this front. the next front that is coming will be in our area friday really has a signif drop behind then there's another one next

week that has a pretty good drop in temperature. denver's high was 61 degrees today. they're expecting snow in the high elevations of the rockies, not in denver but above 11,000 feet. these are good rains that we're beginning to see across the deep south. they really need it. this is our frontal system collect rain. as it marches our direction, it will run into high pressure. so this process will take a while. we don't expect to see it until friday. also wanted to show you while high pressure is really ruling much of the east coast, the national hurricane center is keeping its eye on two areas. one of them is here in the bahamas. this system has not organized. they think it will be a while before it does, if at all. it's created some heavy downpours in the bahamas across southern florida and the coves as it moves west 10 to -- keys as it moves west 10 to 15 miles per hour. will some of that moisture get caught up in a frontal boundary and we'll see some of that next week? also we have tropicastorm nadine getting stronger really

starting to organize, but here's some good news. it looks like it will eventually turn up through the north atlantic maybe going east of bermuda. tonight 61 degrees, clear, cool, some 50s. tomorrow nice, 82, sunny, warm, a tiny bit more noticeable in the temperature department than today. your fox 5 accuweather seven- day forecast, a few clouds friday, a couple showers friday night into the first part of saturday and i'm talking predawn. right now i think the weekend looks good, cooler than the next couple days. monday, tuesday and wednesday of next week computer models are differing a bit, but it's suggesting we'll have rain around and maybe some very significant rain in the deep south. so we'll watch all those trends and keep you ahead of any rains that may come back into the picture next week. that's it for weather. let's send it over to dave ross with some great nats highlights. this is the verizon 4g lte
